Happenings

I know this is kind of late.....but better late then never! So Russell graduated in April. YAY!! I am so proud of him. He has worked so hard these past few years. Our families came into town we enjoyed the ceremony and a yummy dinner afterwords. Russ is just taking a few classes this summer and will hopefully start the MBA program in the fall. He also got promoted at work! He was working at the Orem Community Hospital as a housekeeper. Now he will be working at Utah Valley Hospital. I don't know his title but he will be in charge of scheduling all the housekeepers for Utah Valley. He is super excited that he wont have to clean anymore toilets! He will do a great job!

Some more fun things...

I went to the Kelly Clarkson concert last week. It was such a blast and I was so glad that it didn't rain on us! I went with my sister Mashelle, her daughter Jenna, and Jenna's friend Kennedy. We had a great time!

I also got promoted at work as well! I am now working in the marketing dept. I was a little nervous taking the position since I have no experience what-so-ever! But it has been a great experience. Russ and I are so appreciative of these blessings.

Lastly, I know people have been complaining about the rain. I, on the other hand, love it! All this rain has done wonders for my garden. I thought I would include some pictures of our beautiful roses!

Carnival Elation

So this year for our annual Rex Girls Weekend we went on a cruise. It was so much fun! We left Wednesday and spent the night in San Diego. We got on the boat the next day around noonish and we headed right for the buffet! If any of you have been on a cruise you will know the food is amazing!!

We set sail that evening around 6pm. The next day we were in Ensenada, Mexico (yes we are all nervous about the swine flu!!). We had signed up for this shore excursion where we thought we were going to take a ride up the coast and then play on the beach at a resort. Well we must not have read the description carefully because it consisted of this lady walking us through this building and pretty much just giving us the whole history of Ensenada. Now I'm all for learning about different cultures and I love history. However going on a guided tour is not my cup of tea. I would rather do the exploring and learning on my own. So after about an hour of our history lesson we took a 50 min drive up the coast to a restaurant. The food was amazing and the beach was right there but it was sooo cold that day. So much for our fun day at the beach.

To make up for it we booked some services at the spa on the boat. OH MY!! It was amazing. We each had a back massage, foot and ankle massage, scalp massage, and a facial. I was so relaxing! Then Becky and I went to a Fab Abs class in the gym. WOW 30 min just on abs will kill ya! We were so sore for the rest of the trip! The next day the weather was amazing!! We layed out pretty much the whole day. I did apply and re-apply sunscreen but to no avail. I still have the nastiest sunburn. Luckily the pain has gone away now :). We got back to San Diego and realized all the flights back to SLC were full (we flew standby). So we decided on a road trip! Whoo Hoo!

We drove the 12 hours from Cali to SLC. It was such a treat! We were all so tired and sore and we were all REALLY missing our hubbies! We were able to stop in Vegas and visit Jared and Amber. Their little kids are so stinkin cute! We were each able to see our new niece, Kaylee. She is adorable. We got to Provo around 12:30am. I was beat! We had such a blast! I love spending time with these wonderful women!

We're back!....did ya miss us?

Ok so I know I have been a major slacker in keeping this blog updated. Things have been crazy busy around here. Russ and I have been busy with finishing up our last semester (YAY) Russ took the GMAT about a month ago and we are waiting to hear back to see if he got into Utah State's MBA program (Keep your fingers crossed). We just have a few more weeks left until we are finished! I can't believe we are almost to the finish line. We are so excited to be done with school! Some fun things that have happened, are happening, or are going to happen:
--Russ is looking for a job (if you see anything let us know)
--Russ is going to graduate!
--He turned 26 (He is getting old ;))
--My Grandpa turned 80! We had a big ol party for him! It was so good to see family--This is probably one of my favorite pictures from his party. You will have to ask me about the story behind it :)
--I have a new niece Kaylee Ann Rex - Isn't she so stinkin cute!
--The day after my last final I am going on a cruise with my sisters (WHOO HOO)

--We bought a new car!

--For Russ' graduation we are going to San Diego and staying at this awesome resort

--Four of my favorite friends from the old ward are having babies (I am so happy for you guys! I really need to jump on the band wagon!)

--Last but not least two of my favorite things were finally put together
Dove chocolate and peanut butter!

Well I hope you are all enjoying the weather (I love this time of year!) And I will do a better job at keep this updated! Hope you and your families are doing well! Love ya!!

Presidential Address

"You may not agree with some tough decisions I have made. But I hope you can agree that I was willing to make the tough decisions." --Pres. George W. Bush

I didn't even know President Bush addressed the nation last night. I thought I would post it for anyone else that missed it. Regardless of your political stance I hope we can all give this man the respect he deserves for trying to keep our country safe. Even if you don't agree with him you cannot argue the fact that this man loves his country and its citizens.
